Kolkata based PC and server manufacturing company Waves Infotech intends to target B, C and D class cities as well as strengthen its channel support.
The company is looking to establish regional offices and authorized dealers in the northern and western regions. It has already appointed regional managers in UP, Bihar, Jharkand, Orissa and Tripura and will soon set up offices in Rajasthan, Assam, Gujarat, MP, and Maharashtra, where they are looking out for regional managers.
Suryakant Loharuka, CEO, Waves Infotech, said, "Waves is basically focusing on dealers of small cities and towns to give them ample space to grow. Basically, we plan to give small dealers and distributors a chance. Currently, we have 60 to 70 channel partners and are looking for regional managers in the small cities and towns. After that we plan to increase our channel in these regions."
Waves' products include Glider office expert PCs, Homer multimedia range and Commander server range. A notebook PC called Gypsy will be shortly added to its portfolio. The company also plans to introduce a cost-effective PC made specially for India market.
The company has an ongoing special program for partners called the "Waves Diwali Dhamaka", which is valid till October 15, 2006. This offer is based on the number of PentiumIV PCs sold by the partner. As per the offer, the sale of three PCs will fetch a free CD Rom, six PCs a DVD writer, nine PCs one HP inkjet printer, 12 PCs a HP three-in-one printer, 15 PCs a HP All-in-One printer, 18 PCs a 15" LCD monitor and 21 PCs will entail a 17" LCD monitor. Waves claimed that these gifts will be delivered within five to 10 days after they are claimed.
Waves provides services for maintaining computer systems manufactured by the company as well as of other manufacturers. It has a field engineering force to provide after-sales services. Warranties on products range from one-three years depending on the product. A buffer stock is kept with all regional distributor offices, which either repair or replace products within 48 hours, Loharuka said.
