CAN I SEND A FAX FROM THE INTERNET?
Yes. There are many services that will let you use the Internet to send a fax. Some are free while others are pay services. Most services require that you can send and receive electronic mail, or that you have Web access. Some require that you install special software on your computer (these are listed in the "Faxing from the Desktop" section.) Other Internet services that are available include conversion of incoming faxes to e-mail. That is, when you receive a fax at a special number, the fax is scanned and sent to your e-mail address. Other commercial services include bulk faxing, and web page form input to fax.

Can I share the controller between my hard disk and tape drive?
You can share between the two, but your performance will be better if the tape drive is on its own controller. The SCSI bus has a limited amount of data that can be transferred. For high-speed devices, the SCSI bus can usually be kept at its transfer capacity. If you do connect the tape device to the same bus, the data transfer rate from the disk is essentially cut in half as well as the tape transfer rate. This is due to the fact that data must be read from the disk into memory, formatted and written back out to the bus to the tape device. For low speed devices, such as DDS-1 DAT, lower capacity QIC, and Travan, this will not cause a problem. Also, the high-speed tape drives mentioned above should be connected to Ultra fast, wide SCSI controller. Controllers like the Adaptec 1542 cannot transfer data fast enough to keep the tape device streaming.

Can I upgrade to Windows 98 if I am running Disk Manager?
Yes. Disk Manager Dynamic Drive Overlay (DDO) version 6.x or higher is fully compatible with all versions of Windows when using FAT16. If you intend to use FAT32, and you have a version of Disk Manager previous to version 9.02, you will need to upgrade your version of Disk Manager

Can I use a power strip to power my monitor?
Some power strips will protect against most line voltage spikes, but be sure not to run too many devices on the power strip or connect several strips to a single wall outlet. Also, do not use the surge protector as a master switch to turn on your entire system. To avoid possible synchronization problems between your monitor and video card, it is best to turn your monitor on a few seconds before powering up your CPU.

Can I use a V.34 28.8 modem or a cellular modem for DDR?
